Beyond Conventional FLNG: Integrated Offshore Systems for a Low-Carbon Era

Wednesday, 6 May
Room 312
Technical Session
This session examines how FLNG (Floating LNG) developments are being reconfigured beyond conventional designs through system integration and low-carbon strategies. Presentations include case studies of replicated FLNG facilities and technical approaches for converting LNG carriers into floating liquefaction units. System-level concepts for linking LNG export with CO2 shipping and storage are explored alongside valuation frameworks for floating LNG infrastructure. In addition, address fleet-wide energy-efficiency methods and alternative offshore power systems for FPSO and FLNG facilities. A focused study on FLNG–carrier mooring fatigue complements these discussions by highlighting mechanical design and operational reliability. Together, these contributions illustrate how integrated engineering, economic evaluation, and carbon-reduction objectives are redefining offshore LNG systems for a low-carbon era.
